Salvos Stores Belmont

I went to drop some items off today and I could see the bins were full and there were items stacked on the ground, so I put my donation bags down and decided I could fit in a couple of smaller items in one of the bins. I was just doing so when I woman came rushing out shouting "Stop! Stop! Stop! You can't leave all of this stuff here!" I was a bit shocked at how aggressive she was and I said "I hadn't decided whether or not to leave anything here yet, I can see the bins are full" and she said "You can't! This stuff shouldn't have been left here" and I said "It isn't my stuff!" and she said "Well sorry, but people can't just leave stuff here" and then she stood over me and told me which direction to leave in. I understand it must be annoying for organisations to have been leave things in bags next to the full bins, but either take the bins in when they're full or maybe approach donators with a comment like "Hello, our bins are looking really full - are you okay to donate elsewhere or come back at another time? Or maybe you could carry your donations to the back of the store". Please don't come out shouting at people who are trying to donate to you. It was a horrible - and very unnecessary.

Over priced please consider the purpose people come to these shops. Goods are donated by the community and its for the community. Why would anyone spend time at an opportunity shop if they had a higher budget??? I am considering giving away items for free instead of donating after looking at the price tags of my own donated items. I was shocked!!!! Most staff members are very welcoming and friendly however some are extremely rude. One of the staff was at the counter and another was close by and a customer (she was asian) she asked to confirm about $1 bin. The staff at check out made a rude comment right infront of the lady and they both laughed at her ( I was standing at a distance and could hear definitely that poor lady heard that too). This was from my recent trip and I dont think I will ever go back to this shop again.

Sad to see the gentrification of another Salvos. Most clothing items $7 apiece, basic dresses from $11. Nicer clothes from $30-$50 (yes, $50 for second hand clothing). Clothes priced at ~$15 have dye tags. Incredible how much of a focus is placed on profit instead of serving communities with reasonable priced clothing - clothing that is all donated by the same community.

Whoever is doing your pricing now has got it right! I got so many great bargains! When the shops over priced I buy nothing, when it’s well priced like this one I get loads and spend a bucketload. Good business practice, keeping stock moving! Love it!

Pretty absurd prices at this Salvos but the other 3 neighbouring op shops aren't much better. They do have some cheaper racks that are the only thing really worth the price. Better off buying new things for the same price or cheaper.
