Vinnies Halls Head Shop

Went in to look for a light jacket today but found that there were about three jackets that I liked and could fit but I felt they were too overpriced at $20 for (no brand) and $25 for rivers brand and $25 for anko (Kmart). They were also quite worn jackets too. I passed on the jackets today because of the price alone. The shop however was well laid out, clothes arranged by colour with a good range of winter clothes and shoes. Unfortunately I find it harder and harder to find a bargain from op shops these days

Good selection, friendly staff, nice big changing rooms and I feel like staff put a lot of effort into their displays and putting seasonal / holiday outfits together, for example lots of nice outfits with subtle green highlights / features for St. Patricks Day next week. Great job, team! ☘️

Unfortunately, the prices here are very high and don’t reflect the quality or condition of many items. Goods are priced excessively higher than comparable items at Salvos or Sammy’s, and in some cases even higher than buying new. Op shops play an important role in providing affordable goods and encouraging reuse within the community, and this pricing makes that difficult. While I understand profits support community programs, many other op shops manage to do this while remaining accessible. I’d encourage anyone donating their goods to visit the store and see how items are priced. If affordability for others is important to you then I encourage you to consider donating elsewhere.

Generally a nice store but I feel like Vinnie’s (along with others) are getting too expensive. People who op shop are looking for a good deal. It would be nice if you stop comparing your prices to marketplace, eBay etc and marking them the same if not higher. For example this casserole dish for $45….. I feel like $15 would be reasonable and I’d definitely have bought it for that.
