The client service in here is horrible, my kids weren’t allowed to play in the toy section when op shopping for me is a place to get abit of a break without kids hanging off me 24/7! Not only that also having a kid with special needs! They get their toys for free here and I wasn’t like my kids were fully unsupervised by me, constantly communicating and checking every two seconds literally! but won’t let kids play with the toys! I wasn’t the only parent letting the kids play with the toys and I was getting discriminated by a older lady at the front desk, completely rude telling me to pick up toys that where already on the floor when I got there, my kids just added to the mess! This isn’t client service at all getting talk down to, I’ve spent a lot of money at this place, it’s normally my regular place to go to and now on this day thanks to that older lady this place will no longer be receiving a single cent from me! Vinnies is getting my money now! I was going to buy my adhd son a dinosaur toy to make him happy today and because of how rudely I was talked to I decided not to give a single cent, my son left upset from that place today not happy joyful as usual self! Plz salvos get nicer workers, someone that gives people a smile on their face not someone that sits at that desk acting like they don’t wanna be there and yelling at people being rude! I don’t know why she discriminated about me, might be because I have dark circles around my eyes from having kids, or my hair not being done idk probably thought I looked like a junkie because I didn’t dress up to peoples standards! She was also following me around keeping an eye on me like I was gonna steal! Yet I’ve never given this place a reason to think that since I’m there a lot! Also I must add another worker said it was fine for my kids to place but this lady said I had to sit with the toys if they play with the toys literally, I told her “ I’ve been here so many times and I’ve never been told this “ she replied with “ well I’m telling you now !“ “ now pick up the toys off the floor and get out “ service is disgraceful! I’m a parent myself i will not be talk to like that I also must add they had hardly any sports wear or any size 6 cloths at all clothing is crap
The shop itself is fine, some homewares priced a bit higher than I personally think they’re worth for the quality, but the taller staff member (Sarah?) was absolutely lovely and entertained my baby. Great customer service and sense of community, it’s people like that that make it a nice shopping experience : ).
Had a $6,000 genuine leather, recliner couch that my partner and I had in storage for a bit and wanted to donate instead of sell, so we could give it to someone who might need it. Took it around the back and the woman with a head scarf came out and told us it was too dusty because it had been in storage. It was working perfectly fine and just needed a de-dust, but she very rudely dismissed us. The Australian lady there was lovely and directed us to go to a different place that could help us. As a place that gives back to the community, I would rethink who I would employ to help out the people who need it most. Incredibly bad look, Salvos.
While we were dropping off things for donation as the sign with the light on "Donate here" by the front door, the staff with a head scarves came out and rudely told us that we will get a fine for illegal dumping! Instead of saying the store is not accepting any donations at the moment, the staff accused us! Not impressed! We aim to donate so that Salvos can generate income for a good cause but we got told off rudely instead!
Not bad, they had the 50% off racks and there was quite a lot there. But should keep the $2 racks during the week. Oh but it was hot on a 35 degree day, I was sweating. I wouldn’t recommend coming during the height of summer!
