Extremely disappointed with the current state of this Salvation Army store. The core mission of op shops should be supporting the community, especially when so many Australian families are struggling with the cost of living. They receive all their stock as free donations, yet the pricing has become completely unreasonable. For example, I saw many pre-owned shoes priced at an outrageous $45, even without being hygienically cleaned .To make matters worse, they have removed essential community facilities. The public toilets—including the male, female, and disabled bathrooms—are now restricted to "staff only" and locked behind expensive digital keypads. Restricting access to a disabled toilet is particularly unfair to vulnerable shoppers. It feels like this store is prioritizing high profits over community care.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Proper gem of a spot in Morley! I’ve been volunteering every Friday at The Salvation Army Morley (565 Walter Road East) since February 2026 and it’s honestly one of the best parts of my week. The team here is top-notch — lively, welcoming, and they bring that proper Friday energy that makes the whole shift fly by. The customers are what really make it special though. You meet the nicest people, have great chats, and it genuinely feels like part of the local community. Whether they’re hunting for a bargain or just popping in for a yarn, it’s always good vibes. If you’re after solid second-hand finds, friendly faces, and a team that actually cares, this is your place. Salvos Morley — highly recommend.
Great store, customer service is fantastic, the manager sheree is a absolute gem, she’s definitely made for customer service, always happy and positive, goes out of her way to help you, prices are good it’s my favourite store, salvos should be grateful to have a manager like that because a lot of the sores aren’t great anymore
Good op shop! All clothing items are priced individually which means there are some good bargains, unlike other op shops that do all pants or dresses, regardless of quality, for $11 🙄. A few things priced too high but to my standard, this is a well priced op shop. Definitely worth checking out. Staff were also pleasant. 50% specials and $2 racks.
Racist, rude and exceptionally terrible staff. Came here with my little boy and had wanted to purchase some toys. There was no one at the counter and a bell there said to 'ring if unattended'. We waited a while, and since no one came, we rang the bell. But was only to be told off by nearby staff (white, older woman). She scolded at us with my little boy there saying we are not to ring that bell. I said, I rang because there's no one here and it says to ring if unattended. She proceeded to tell us off, not happy we dinged the bell. I just wanted to pay for the toys but left them and walked out. If she had been polite, we would have happily waited but the attitude was of pure racism, discrimination and hate. I feel horrible that my little boy had to witness that. For a non profit op shop helping the community, I thought kindness, friendliness and inclusion would be the basis for all staff. Especially when there are children around. Really disgusting experience, gives this Salvos a terrible rep. Will never return. Shame on that staff member (I didn't get her name but she worked there today at around 3pm). What a miserable human being.
