The price is ridiculous high for a op shop! The coat label 150$ and a lot of items here are very high priced!
Great little store and neat too. Very happy that I could grab some cassettes and DVDs for a good price and that they will be preserved. Staff are friendly and a nice spot. Only thing to criticise really is that I missed it while driving and I had to go around a block to get in. Parking is tight at front but hey, I love a store that is not so crowded and visited.
I have to disagree with many of the negative comments in the reviews. If those selfish individuals didn’t dump all their mountainous piles junk in front of the store your years, they wouldn’t have needed to pay a $1m getting rid of it or pay to get the security fence which would have cost a lot. Who do you think paid for that? Become a member and go on a Thursday for discounts. The staff have always been helpful and polite to me.
My children and I love visiting op shops together. While they’re still young, I’m teaching them the value of money and that buying second‑hand can often be better than buying new. We’ve visited the Salvos store at Kensington Gardens several times and have found some fantastic items at very reasonable prices. My children always get excited looking through the toys while I browse the nearby children’s clothing racks. However, during one visit I noticed a staff member lingering very close to us. She stood between the racks, watching the kids. At first, I assumed she was just making sure nothing was opened or damaged, which I understood. But as we moved to the next section—usually the craft items—the same staff member followed and hovered nearby again. This continued throughout the store. Everywhere we went, she seemed to be observing us, and it felt quite uncomfortable and a bit creepy. The next two times we visited, the exact same thing happened with the same staff member. I’m not sure why, but the constant watching made the experience unpleasant and frustrating. It’s disappointing, because we genuinely enjoy op shopping and have found great things here, but this behaviour has made us hesitant to return
The store has quite a spacious layout, but the prices are clearly at least 30% higher than other second-hand shops. Also, when I asked a staff member if I could use the bathroom, she gave me a weird look and said it wasn’t available for customers. Not a great experience.
