I’m an avid opshopper and love supporting a circular economy. Unfortunately the range is very limited. Mostly Anko, budget, and poor quality brands. Staff are particularly touchy about receiving donations. They refused one grocery bag of kids clothes, saying they would just put it in the bin if I left it because they’re too busy to sort it. Even if that was to be true, it’s not something you share with a customer. I found the managers attitude to be rude and unhelpful. At least I had the manners to ask during business hours rather than dump it at their door on a Sunday. With a poor attitude like that, no wonder they can’t hold down volunteers! Just shop elsewhere and don’t waste your time.
What a joke. Closed 10mins early, extremely disappointed after driving here. Would have been in and out but was refused entry. Change your hours and save peoples time it you’re going to close early
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great service at Salvos Stores Gateways I visited on 1/12/25 and was impressed by Angela’s excellent customer service. Even during a busy time, she greeted everyone with a warm smile, helped a customer making a donation, gave directions to another, and still assisted me in finding a Christmas T-shirt. Her professionalism and kindness made my visit very positive. Thank you, Angela!
Friendly volunteers and store is very organised. Prices are also very reasonable. I’ve found some great puzzles and teacher resources at this store over the years.
I wan about to drop off some toys and clothes on my way to work at 8:30am, a guy came out of the door and yelled at me “Excuse me, we only accept donations from 9am, we have a BIG sign here. Come back after 9!” Then he went back inside and closed the door quickly—— it happened just within 3-5 seconds. None of the words he said was wrong, but he was just so rude!! His face and his voice was telling me what an annoying donator I am because I donated in a wrong time!! When he pointed to the sign (donate after 9am), he seemed to say “are you blind! You can’t see this big sign!!” I really didn’t see the sign because it was in the further side of the door, I didn’t walk there. And yes, I am blind, I am so blind to choose Salvor to do my donations. I would never ever go back, and I am also going to cancel my monthly donations which I have been doing for years and change to another organization. I believe I would receive a Thank You instead of yelling.
