I'm a keen op-shopper, making a point not to buy brand new and purchasing all of my clothes second-hand. I visited this store over a year ago and it was great. I walked in again today and noticed how well organised and how very well stocked it was. Unfortunately, on closer inspection I found a lot of the items to be of poor quality and hugely overpriced. I found the prices to be higher than what I would be prepared to pay for good quality second hand clothes and alot of what I saw today was nearly worn out for the same price. Lots of pilled fabrics and some visibly torn along the neckline and still commanding high prices. For some of the brands the items were probably purchased cheaper brand new. I would love to have purchased at least 4 items today but only walked out with 1 and that was only after I questioned the price and it was revised. For example, one item was a name (sports) brand hoodie with a zip and pockets, the material was very well worn, pilled all over and had at least 3 pulled threads. The asking price was $19. Other items were so worn out and tired looking that if they hung in my wardrobe I'd be rehoming them for free or recycing them, not charging over and above for them. I was prepared to spend $50 today but instead only spent $9. I came to realise that being well stocked was probably more of a sign of people not buying than anything else

Used to love this store, unfortunately lately one of the tuesday helpers, an older lady with greyish hair is unbelievably rude to the point where I wont visit any longer when shes working. Judging people and being down right offensive and snobby, does she realise she works in a op shop? Does she think she works for Myer? The other ladies in store are bloody lovely but shes so rude its shocking.

It was great now it’s so overpriced it is not enjoyable the corporate is even more expensive than the places they come from..whoever is now pricing hasn’t a clue that glass cabinet has ridiculous prices.i won’t be travelling there anymore I’ve been a solid customer since 2018 thousands of $$$ I’ve spent, but I’m not going to be ripped off and that’s what it is,the staff are fabulous

Up there with the more expensive op shop prices. Dresses start at $9, including for really old ones and ones made with cheap fabrics. However, it’s worth dropping in because they have a large rack of $2 items and 50% items. Theres also beautiful and well priced sheepskin little rugs. Anyway, you can look at it that you’re paying a premium because vinnies has to pay staff at different levels of the organisation which the smaller op shops don’t have to. Smaller independent op shops that use unpaid volunteers are routinely cheaper and with better customer service. Added: I finally got my own experience of poor customer service with vinnies! It’s almost a rite of passage. I had asked the women behind the counter when I first went in if they knew which day during the week that clothes are moved to the discount racks. I asked in a friendly way and it was met with attitude. I was told that it doesn’t work that way and that there is no set day when markdowns happen. I remarked that that was surprising because thats now how it’s done at most other op shops. (I used to be an unpaid supervisor at one). Well I rang yesterday and spoke to someone else there who told me that these markdowns do happen on a Tuesday. My question for vinnies: are you paying your store staff? Because if they’re unpaid volunteers thats one thing, and it can be more easily justified. But if these rude people you have in your stores are *paid*, then you need to tidy house. Get rid of the ones who get constant complaints and train the ones who are actually willing to serve properly. I travel all around Perth and go to all the op shops and vinnies is consistent in their feedback of bad staff attitudes.

I live in the area and love op shopping so I’m here quite frequently. I appreciate how clean and tidy everything is and for about a year I would rave about the treasures I would find here, and to me it was the best op shop around-but recently things have gotten quite expensive where it not a huge difference between going to a normal store and buying the item. It has made me on more than a few occasions put items back lately. Sadly I come here way less and will spend time in other shops now.
