Lifeline Superstore Browns Plains

I regularly support this store and the young shop assistant is a Lovely friendly person. I just donated some items and your Saturday afternoon volunteers are so rude. I ask a question about whether your store accepts heaters and fans and I was quite prepared to take them somewhere else if it’s a safety issue. All one woman could do was grunt at me and the other one ignored so I’m assuming it was a yes.

Like many other reviews this store pricing is getting to be out of this planet. Everyday brands like Kmart, Target, Big W or even stores that have closed down& still priced over what they sell for brand new. Example photo- Shien product priced at $15, so shocking! Is it because the store just wants stock levels to just sit there& not sell at all? because you must make budget somehow but also its suppose to be a place where people should beable to buy affordable budget friendly products while helping out a charity at the same time helps others/ other services as part of the organisation. Other stores are so much better not perfect(some things still need price check in todays reality world prices. Things like shoes& manchester products& or homewares etc need to also have a price& quality overhaul. The reason why its so disappointing as I don’t donate my quality high end branded things anymore either due to the fact of how it would be priced. Hence why stores are now often just filled with cheaper brand or mass produced unwanted stock like uniform type clothing. As others like myself feel upset&or disappointed that either I donate directly to others or I just honestly throw out etc.

Dated 24 March 2026! I’m usually a fan of supporting Lifeline, and I have to give credit where it’s due: this Browns Plains store is exceptionally clean, neat, and well-presented. The layout is organized, and it doesn't have that cluttered feel many thrift shops do, which makes the browsing experience quite pleasant. However, the pricing is a major letdown. In the current economy, you expect a charity shop to offer a reprieve, but seeing a basic shirt from Willow Tree (a common wholesale label) priced at $45.00 is quite a shock. Many items here are priced surprisingly close to or even higher than brand-new retail equivalents from stores like Kmart or Target. They really need to implement a boutique area for higher-end labels and cap standard pricing at a more accessible level, ideally no more than $15 for general items. It’s disappointing to see donated goods marked up so high that they’re no longer accessible to the community they are meant to support. While the store looks great, the "boutique" price tags unfortunately outweigh the "op shop" value.

I don’t normally review op shops because I am supportive of what they do, but this op shop- what happened? The prices are absolutely outrageous! I understand volunteers do their best but pricing items at $45 and in store they would have been lucky to be $60 is just insane! Lifeline needs to go back to set pricing. You have so much stock- just price it so it moves you would actually make more money for the causes at the core of your business. If any manager out there sees this- this store needs a pricing overhaul. It’s lost the plot.

The shop itself is nicely laid out and pleasant to browse, but getting here can be a hassle. Parking is very tight, and if you don’t snag a spot early, you might be out of luck. Unfortunately, the prices are surprisingly high—often more expensive than buying new—which really takes away from the appeal. The radio in parts of the store is also far too loud, making it hard to browse comfortably. Stock quality can be hit-and-miss, so it’s not always worth the trip.
