Still expensive for a second hand shop! For that price, I may as well buy it new and enjoy taking the tags off myself. 😅

Probably my favourite Vinnies in all of Brisbane, the staff are extremely friendly and every time I come here I find something incredible for an insanely good price. A must visit, especially if you're looking for haberdashery and fibre art supplies.

Dropped into Vinnies Kenmore on the noble hunt for second-hand treasure and found myself trying on a pair of confidently priced $15 Oakley sunglasses. While admiring my reflection, I apparently became the most interesting thing in the store. A staff member monitored me with the intensity of airport security, loudly sighing and repeatedly gesturing to her co conspirator at the register — unfortunately not realising my wife was standing right next to her watching the entire interpretive performance unfold. I did briefly wonder if I was being racially profiled… but that seems unlikely given I’m only ¼ Maltese on my father’s side, Scottish and Australian on my Mother’s and otherwise look more like Hugh Jackman than any recognised minority group. Perhaps she sensed I was from Sydney due to my innate sense of style and suave disposition or perhaps Kenmore as a whole is still recovering from the world famous heist where 53 right shoes were stolen, which understandably left a real mark on the community. In fairness, maybe she was just having a rough day. Or maybe $15 Oakleys simply demand heightened vigilance. Despite this experience, I still love Vinnies and will always stop in hoping to uncover a hidden gem. I’ll just be a little more cautious at this particular store — and maybe avoid extended sunglasses modelling sessions. Still not sure if the Oakleys are genuine or the greatest custom find of all time. I’ll wear them with pride and have grown stronger as a person from this experience. Either way I’ll be enjoying my Christmas in Kenmore regardless. Merry thrifting 🎄😎

All of those commenting on the overpriced items need to reassess what they’re actually complaining about. Vinnies is a charity, and if anything, paying more for items at Vinnies is far more ethical than paying the same amount for new items. People need to stop complaining. The money is going to a good cause. I don’t shop at Vinnies to come out with a bag of goodies for $10. I shop there to support St Vincent De Paul Society, finding hidden gems whilst also recycling clothes and stopping them from going to landfill. The items I found today were well worth the price, and I didn’t feel ripped off for one minute. Where are these customers values? How cheap do they expect these clothes to be? Why are they even at Vinnies if they don’t care about donating to charity and recycling clothes? Is it all about saving money? Surely values run deeper than saving a few dollars. Disappointed in the slandering reviews.

The staff are so friendly, easy to navigate shop, and I always find something cool for a good price!
