I used to like this store however they seem to be getting quite expensive. Most of the staff at this store are lovely, excluding Madu I think her name is, who I’ve noticed is very selectively nice to only people who look a particular way and blatantly rude to others who lack the pale skin she seems to favour.
Im from Sydney + have been shopping at Vinnies for 15+ years. I was super keen to visit Vinnies Narrabundah. Upon entering after a 30min walk from Kingston, I knew Id stepped into a Majikal treasure trove. I spent 2hrs there, leaving no stone unturned. The atmosphere was filled with fabulous music, voices including my own, singing/humming to every tune. The women who worke there were beautiful, friendly + incredibly helpful. I felt like Id known them forever . This also extends to every person who came thru the door. I was hoping to find some fabulous pieces and I did. But the most fabulous finds were the incredible ladies who volunteered their time to be there.. Evelyn, Madu + Margot. Even if Id left empty handed, you made me feel very special + filled my heart with joy. Happy 2026. I hope to see you again on my next visit. xxxxx
The volunteers were very friendly! I love how accommodating they were with their bright smiles and refreshing music which truly made our day after being rejected by the other shop. Instead of going to Salvos Fyshwick, head over here and you will feel the Christian spirit. Oh Lord, bless this shop and all its staff. Amen.
This Vinnies store is clean and tidy. However I watched an interaction with a staff member and a gent. He saw a pair of shoes and was trying them on. They looked clean and newish. He wanted to buy them but they were $25 and the staff member said they're priced accordingly as they're like new. Isn't it the aim of an 'Op Shop' to help those in need? He had $15. Help him. The staff member was calm but not overly interested in having a conversation with this person. You get the stock for free. Be an Op Shop not a Retail Outlet. Pricing of stock was what I considered to be high. Not sure the mantra, 'destination for affordable and pre-loved items' stands completely true.
