I simply asked nicely if they would do a small discount on a pair of fast-fashion shoes but the salesperson's response was a little rude. I only asked because I know the south end of King St tends to take bartering, but maybe that's because those stores are culturally diverse where bartering is a more acceptable norm. I would understand if I kept insisting on a lower price but I only asked once, so I was a little taken aback. There's also a cost-of-living crisis, so of course I want to know whether a cheap pair of shoes from an unknown brand that was probably made in an exploitative factory in China could be priced a little cheaper in a charity shop for poor people.
I love this op shop at Newtown ..lots to pick from .very friendly staff .great atmosphere. Also mimco donate their display items when the display has finished
We love going to the Red Cross shop in Newtown. Quality stock at a great price. Very sad to hear the Manager, Owen passed away after a short illness last week. He loved his music. He had a great knowledge of bands, musicians and fashion labels. We will miss him and our in-depth music chats.
Good range of products. In general prices are a little higher than average op shops. However it is still cheaper than those in non charity shops. Like how they display books on top of the shelves where clothes are displayed under. Belts are $7. Shorts are $15. Pants are $20+. Some tops are $10. Shoes are around $20. Difficult to see details of products as it is pretty dark in the shop. Need more lightings especially in denim pants area. Don't feel like spending time browsing for a long time as it is hard to see details of items.
Very lovely and fun stuff members, we will be back for sure 💉🩸greetings from the naughty boys corner. P.S. don’t bend your arm while your needle is inside you!!
