Vinnies Wembley Shop

Honestly disappointing. Prices are outrageous for an op shop, especially when many of the so-called “designer” items are actually fast fashion brands. Thrifting is meant to be affordable and accessible, this just feels greedy and completely misses the point. Proceeds go to charity and I want to support, but op shops exist to make second-hand clothing accessible while supporting good causes… this misses that balance completely.

As a local, I often stop in for a look and occasionally find a great book or little treasure, sometimes at a good price. Sadly I’ve stopped donating goods here as I’ve been annoyed at having some of the ladies out the back bringing piles of goods to the front counter and having first choice of the donations. It’s just so disheartening when you’re shopping in store and seen this several times.

I would probably say this is the best Vinnies in the North side of Perth. Great selection of clothes (low to high), bric a brac, homewares and accessories. They always have new things coming in, they usually have the higher end things behind the counter or the special clothes rack. Historically, I've bought an original framed painting, a designer scarf, great homewares and just recently a trench coat. I would definitely recommend checking this Vinnies out, they put a lot of care into the store and their volunteers work really hard. Over time they've curated the space and most items are in great condition, in line with their pricing. I know others' have commented on the dissatisfaction with the pricing however to my knowledge, most of what's being priced is fair, at least 35% - 40% off. They also make a point to quality control their items and ensure they are donable. Great store overall, plus there's a cafe next door after shopping.

Overpriced. Expensive. I’ve purchased the same items at other opshops at 1/3 the price. The way they price donated items feels like they have shareholders to take care of.

I regularly visit this shop as I live nearby. I always find well priced, quality surprises. The staff are extremely helpful and curtious and friendly, particularly addressing parked cars unaware of the parking arrangements, wrapping large items carefully, on request, and just helping around. Some items are more upmarket and more expensive than others, but I often find great designer items for the regular price. For all this and more (great pictures section) I will return.
