RSPCA SA Sefton Park Op Shop

As a male second hand store enthusiast I don’t always have the experience that I hope for. This is not the case at rspca Sefton. The store is beautifully appointed and laid out, and the staff and volunteers absolutely top notch. I’m always happy to spend time there-ten out of five stars!

Extremely disappointing experience, especially for a store that raises money for charity. I had regularly purchased from this store. I carefully selected many glass items with two fragile items I handled gently to prevent damage, but at the counter, the woman serving me handled them roughly, causing one item, a glass jar with a lid that I had already enquired as there was no marked price to break right at the counter. She ‘apologised’ for being careless and claimed it was her butter fingers, then offered the broken glass item to me for free, which I found unacceptable and unsafe, to take home and unpack sharp broken glass? To make matters worse, my crystal heart and smaller items were not even packed with the order in its entirety. I purchased many item(s) at $49.00 value. After walking about 10 shops away, I realised they were missing and had to walk all the way back to the store. I was then told by another saleswoman (the salesperson who broke 2 items informed her ‘You must have left them” I replied, "No, I had already purchased them, and they were not packed at all". In reality, they had never been packed in the first place. When I had to take my own personal time to go back to collect those unpacked items, I held the heart back in my hand so as not to not get damaged being repacked. Only to find out that the same salesperson who broke the first item showed complete lack of carelessness leaving my purchases left on the counter at the store. As I held it up to look at the item, my already paid for crystal heart had now mysteriously had a massive crack in it, which was never there at the time of inspection by me, as I always do when thrifting. I had taken great care selecting and protecting these items, so seeing them damaged through careless handling was incredibly frustrating. The level of "care" and professionalism should be far higher than this. Customers supporting a charity store deserve their purchases to be handled with basic respect and care. This particular salesperson did not display any such care or consideration. Very unprofessional and disappointing. I will now spend my hard-earned money at other charities that demonstrate basic respect for customers' purchases, so I will no longer support Sefton Park RSPCA again.

I’m an avid op-shopper and collector and this is by far my favourite second-hand store in Adelaide! The store is always clean and tidy, with items thoughtfully displayed and beautifully presented. The staff are warm, welcoming and professional — it’s always a pleasure to say hello to Paula, Briar, and Peter when I visit. Prices are very fair, and I’m confident you’ll find something you love. I don’t think I’ve ever left this shop empty-handed. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favour and pop in for a browse. You won’t regret it!

I just discovered this OpShop and absolutely loved the atmosphere. Such a well organised little shop with many well priced gems. Would definitely recommend if you’re in the area.

Such a great place for bargain, great customer service. Found exactly what we were looking for. Variety of products are inexpensive and affordable. There was a great range for doggos we happened to find 2 fun puppy peices. We had such a wonderful shopping experience and look forward to our next op shop trip.
