I had a short but wonderful time volunteering at The Holland Foundation. The team was welcoming, warm, friendly and incredibly supportive. It was a great opportunity to learn new skills, meet amazing people and contribute to a meaningful cause. I'm grateful for the experience and would highly recommend the Foundation to anyone looking to volunteer or gain local experience.
My journey with the Holland Foundation introduced me to so many amazing people, from Grant, the CEO, to Helen and many others who supported and guided me every step of the way. They helped me find my place in a new community and grow as a person. I am especially grateful to Grant for helping me build my confidence and encouraging me to believe in myself more and more each day.
I’m very grateful to the Holland Foundation for their excellent support, training, and guidance in helping me secure a retail job. The team was professional, supportive, and genuinely invested in my success, and a special thanks to Grant, whose guidance, encouragement, and practical advice made a huge difference to my confidence and job readiness. I highly recommend the Holland Foundation to anyone seeking quality employment support.
I extend my deepest thanks to the Holland Foundation for the training and volunteer opportunities I received during my time here. It has made a great difference to my time in between jobs and helped renew my capabilities. Grant, Helen, and the team are lovely to work with. Highly recommend.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Holland Foundation for their continuous guidance and support. Throughout my time with the organisation, I received comprehensive training in the areas I needed most, including retail and administration. These experiences not only strengthened my practical skills but also allowed me to grow with confidence. I am truly thankful for all the support and opportunities I have gained along the way.

About this shop
The Holland Foundation's Bentleigh op shop doubles as a real-world training ground for people working towards employment. Behind the ordinary second-hand retail setting, trainees build practical skills in customer service, cash handling, displays, stock control and office administration, with help preparing for applications and interviews. Recent participants repeatedly describe the programme as supportive and confidence-building. A browse here therefore helps sustain hands-on pathways back into work, rather than funding retail activity alone.
