Disgusting. Wouldn’t adjust it.

Money hungry, grubby, greedy!! Opportunity shop?!?!! Haha! They get free DVDs, music discs and clothes and sell the good free donations on eBay and online at ridiculously overpriced values for profit! How is that giving people who can't afford things an opportunity to buy things cheap? They are a business for profit, they claim 1$ dvds but in a 5 disc set they charge $10 ??????? To those who can't afford things, I recommend going on eBay and buying elsewhere, these greedy corporation don't care if you can't afford, they only want to hide behind "charity" status while selling FREE!!!!!! donations at exorbitant prices online! Not only that, they sorce items themselves and resell them at higher prices. How is that a charity? Cash converters 2.0! Boycott!!!

I usually visit this Salvation Army store once, sometimes twice, every week. The staff out on the floor are always warm, friendly and genuinely welcoming, they’re the reason I’ve kept coming back. In particular, recently the newer lady on the tills has been an absolute breath of fresh air. She is consistently inviting, cheerful and genuinely kind. I’ve watched her interact with kids, parents and the elderly and she treats everyone with the same warmth and patience. She is truly refreshing. However, there is an older staff member (possibly the manager) whose behaviour and language continues to shock me. Last week, I watched a lovely staff member offer to help close the shop as she lived locally, only to be cut off mid-sentence with a very rude, “No. She has to learn,” before walking away. The hostility in her tone was unnecessary and unfortunately it wasn’t the first time I’ve heard her speak to others this way. But yesterday crossed the line. A tradesman was repairing the front entrance and a customer was walking out when this older staff member LOUDLY snapped “Get out of the way.” It was abrupt, rude and completely inappropriate, especially in front of a shop full of people. I don’t think she knew the customer and the way she said it made me end up putting my items back and leaving. The Salvation Army’s values are based on compassion, dignity and respect — values this particular staff member does not uphold. She is consistently loud, bossy and dismissive and her language is far beyond a sailors. It creates a very unwelcoming environment. Not a great role model. To the rest of the team tho, keep doing what you’re doing. Your positive, inviting and cheerful energy is what makes this store feel like a community. Don’t let one person’s negativity dim the spirit you work hard to create.

Shout out to the tall guy with glasses who was extremely helpful and friendly last Saturday donating goods, great service!

Obviously the Salvos are making bucket loads of money with their new Kmart style stores. Seriously over priced, their second hand tees from Kmart are priced higher than the brand new ones at the nearby Kmart store. The staff are very nice, but the greed is on show. Bring back the small thrift shops with reasonable prices. So disappointed with the Salvos, they are now another $ business and have lost the people who really need them.😒
