Nice store, good range However this is the 2nd time the cashier has made an issue at the checkout. Im sure it's not intentional, but id advise double checking ur change just to be sure it's correct :)

Feeling sad about this review, I loved this store and attended regularly but since January this year I feel as if this store has gone down hill, there was a wonderful lady named Nat (I think) I haven’t seen her for awhile which is a shame because she seemed the lift the whole moral of the store, some of the stuff seemed asif they didn’t want to be there and the way they treat customers and kids is a disappointment, but the lady who (I hope) is called Nat made up for it.

I was shopping in the toy section of Salvos Banksia Grove today at approximately 4:45pm, browsing and testing the toys, all of which I placed neatly back on the shelf when I was done with them. An older male worker approached me and said that he hoped I was not making a mess. Thinking that he was joking as I am an adult and was just standing there I laughed and said no. He then angrily grumbled about mess and the toys and stormed off. While I did not have children with me, I work with children and often thrift toys, stationery, and games to use with them. I also have many children in my life that I regularly thrift for. I did not appreciate being spoken to in that manner or having it insinuated that I was making a mess. I understand that, given the nature of an op shop and the fact that these products are toys, customers very often treat items poorly, break them, and make messes that volunteers then have to clean up. It was, however, very unpleasant to be spoken to like that, and I felt unwelcome browsing the toy section. Perhaps if this man has such an issue with customers browsing products, he should be placed in the back sorting stock and not have to look at customers browsing :) I decided to approach a blonde male worker, who I assumed was the manager as he is always there when I visit which is very often, and let him know that I had a very unpleasant encounter and did not appreciate the other man’s behaviour. He was quite short with me, only saying he was sorry that I experienced that and that he would pass it on. He is not normally the most warm or bubbly person, but I have never seen him be directly rude or display poor customer service, so I am assuming he was at least somewhat genuine. I understand that people do not always show the most respect or care when it comes to displays or products in an op shop, but being spoken to that way was very icky. If he genuinely thought I was making a mess, then he should have asked me to leave not approached me, been condescending and rude, and then walked off. I did comment to my partner that it would have been quite funny if I had made a mess for him to clean up after he walked off, and I can imagine that if he had spoken to another customer in the same manner, they might actually do that. The majority of the workers who I believe are mostly volunteers at Salvos Banksia Grove are so lovely, cheerful and friendly and I hope their positive vibes can rub off on him. I will continue to shop at and support the Salvos and their wonderful mission. However am hoping I won’t run into him again, and hopefully he has a better attitude with other customers and today was just a bad day.

I arrived at 5:20 to return 2 items . 2 men stood behind counter and immediately told me to hurry up as I have 5 minutes , no hello, no friendly face no customer service present. was clear they just wanted me out. When showing the reciept he said he cannot return them and I need to go back to original store as they don’t sell these items (the receipt stated return to ANY of our stores). Locked the door behind me 5 minutes before there closing time. Now I have to drive 30 minutes back to original store because they couldn’t be bothered 👍👍👍
