Vinnies Applecross Shop

Excessively over priced. Average price of $19 for an item of clothing. I hope they realise they get these items for free

I had a very disappointing experience at Vinnies Applecross. The skinny woman with short hair with brown hair was extremely rude and appeared to single out me and my disabled client unfairly. She kept following us around and repeatedly mentioned that we were only allowed to take five items into the fitting room, even after we had already removed some clothes she was following us. What made the situation worse was that there were other customers carrying many more items, yet she only seemed focused on us. Her behaviour made us feel unwelcome, judged, and like we were outsiders in the community. Meanwhile, she was noticeably much kinder and friendlier toward white customers. As someone supporting a disabled client, it was upsetting to see this kind of treatment. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect and dignity regardless of their background.

Great stock but horribly priced! The manger thinks she’s running a Gucci store and is incredibly out of touch with reality. $28 for cotton on and Uniqlo, cheaper to buy it new. When the stock they receive is free any money they make is 100% profit!!! No opportunity’s found for people who need it

Some nice clothing, but all way overpriced. Couldn’t find a decent dress or shirt for under $20, most upwards of $30. “Designer” labels over $100. Shoes all over $30 too. Only worn out and cheap clothing on a sale rack for half price. Jewellery and scarves almost reasonably priced. Disappointed I made the trip, I should have read the reviews first!

As some have noted, the prices can be a little inflated here. That being said though - I've found some absolutely incredible pieces here for very reasonable prices. A vintage 90s Gianni Versace top for $14, an Issey Miyaki Pleats Please top for $13, and a beautiful vintage 90s Country Road formal dress for $12. For regular wardrobe basics, definitely shop elsewhere because they are overpriced here. BUT if you want some nice, upscale statement pieces it's worth checking out!
