Save the Children Margate

Went to donate some items today and the lady at the drop off bins was very rude and did not want to accept my donations as she said “can’t you see we already have enough”. I responded saying I could take it somewhere else because there’s some good things in there including popular brands not just Kmart stuff and she said “that’s what everyone says but just dump it anyways”. Next time I will take my donations elsewhere where they will be appreciated.

Great finds and plenty of cool things in here Huge dvd and vhs collection Friendly staff Love coming here, you never know what you will find - I found a vhs set of the lord of the rings movies for about 10 bucks - still sealed in plastic wrap from when it was made Can’t fault this place. A+++

Rude staff plus kids toys marked way to high for what they’re worth, some are even more expensive then the actual retail price

Place is spacious and items are well-organized and well-sorted. Prices are fair and affordable. Many good finds for your outfit and house needs!

Everything has been picked over with a fine tooth comb and prices referenced off eBay prices (as listed on the tags) so if you like to go op shopping to hunt and find a gem (really who doesn’t)...this isn’t the store for you. They have printed up special labels that say “Vintage” and “Retro” which is simply code for...prepare to pay more! Anything under these labels is overpriced for an op shop but cheaper than you would pay at a vintage store. It is a good sized store, there are lots of books and clothes, very little furniture. Everything is a little overpriced, even the books and junky stuff.
