I walked in and pulled a canvas print out of a rack. The price on the tape said $5. I thought great. I go to pay and the woman serving me says $15. Unbeknown to me there was another sticker on the canvas print. I said I didnt see that sticker , I saw the $5 sticker. She said oh, that was the garage sale price. A very disappointing visit, given I regularly donate to the Salvos and purchase from various Salvos locations. If they are going to sell items they've grabbed from garage sales, they should check and remove any price tags. No...I didnt buy it.
Good Old Salvos. The volunteers. The service. The care. Hopefully governments can learn from these normal people talking in normal language promising what they offer. Just Great ,Old Fashion Honest Service. The volunteers dont get a cent. May be ,about time ,our government people can dedicate time ,like 2 days a week ,to the communities. No Pay. Just, for once ,honest & from the heart for a change . You agree ???? Am I too brutal or to demanding ??? Or had enough of fake promises . ??? Please comment . I thank you for your in put 🙏. ( overseas monies. What about looking after our problems. Like homeless people . Family. We have a BIG PROBLE HERE !!!!)
I went in Today, Had a look around some nice items, saw a polaroid camera in the cabinet, asked the lady if i could look she kindly let me asked them to put it behind the counter as when i was done i would be purchasing! after doing a bit of looking i head up to pay to ONLY FIND OUT THEY SOLD IT OFF the ladies at the front counter sold it to another customer right after the lady put it behind there on hold! quite disappointed as they just laughed at the situation, brushed it off but VERY disappointed wont be leaving anything behind the counter from now on.
I have been here on a number of occasions, the store layout is nice but that's about it. I have seen too many low quality items on the racks for sale and at prices far higher than they should be. There have been times when customers request for glassware to be wrapped up, which is fine, but when the staff member wrapping is unable to serve and there are other staff member(s) walking around refusing to serve, it turns into a long wait! I've also found some of the staff members to come across as very lacklustre and closed off, particularly two staff members in their 50's. I will continue to try out other locations in hope of a better experience.
SO DISAPPOINTED THIS TIME WITH THE BEAUTIFUL STYLING GONE….. This WAS THE VERY BEST Salvos store in Adelaide . It smelt fresh and every way you turned to look there was excellent styling done with a lot of class. Salvos Brighton road lifted my spirits and gave me joy, it was a boost to my day simply because I could see a lot of care and professionalism in the very good styling & care in coordination. I rated this Salvos as a lovely place to go to shop. I visited once a week and never went home without purchases. The lovely staff are as wonderful as ever and they explained that corporate Salvos is out there to make as much money as possible to help people , so I get that , yet this decision to stuff more racks of clothes and dispense with any charm , attractiveness or pride in their store has me feeling really disappointed. I almost shed a tear in my car on my way home. That beautifully curated store …. GONE. I am so sad. I am grieving for the best Salvos store that was.
