Lifeline Shop Port Fairy

Wonderful team at lifeline Port Fairy! Store is well presented and staff are lovely. Couldn’t rate any higher!!

Couldn’t find anything myself! A lot of the clothes seemed over worn! Fingers crossed they get some good donations 😌

I am sad to have to leave this review, but was quite disappointed in a recent visit to this op shop. Came here with a family member and now wondering what has happened to this store which used to be a friendly and reasonably priced local op shop. Firstly, I get that staff were busy getting ready to make the most of the folk festival due to start two days from our visit. It seemed like they had extra staff/volunteers in and were putting out extra stock and reorganising everything In fact it was hard to even move around the store to look at things. The family member I was with gave up and left the store and I ended up buying him something and bringing it out to him. Not only were there some prices ridiculously high, the standard prices had all also gone up. The morale of staff/volunteers also seemed quite low. When I brought my things to purchase at the counter the woman there ignored me for at least 3 minutes while she tried to fix an item. When I quite politely mentioned it seemed their prices had all increased, and questioned the $50 price tag on one dress (I understand it was a new dress, but it was only a tshirt dress) she said quite rudely"the prices are the prices, if you have an issue with them, take it up with management" . Obviously her customer service skills need some work. I said to her that I was not picking a fight, only commenting. She then also tried to charge me for my own handbag, which I had put on the counter to get my purse out to pay. In terms of the $50 tag on the dress she said, some dresses are $500 new, and I said, I know that label and none of their dresses cost that much. (In fact the same dress is currently for sale online through the brand's own site for 20% off the sale price of $69.99,so roughly what the op shop is charging for an item which most likely has a fault, otherwise why is it there?) I know the op shop is there to raise money for a cause, but isn't it's other function to provide clothing at reasonable prices for locals and those who have little money to spare to buy clothes? It sadly seems to now not care about this other purpose, and prefers to cater for those travelling through town with lots of money to spare.

We bought a toy boat for $2 and my wife bought some shoes and clothes. Very well presented shop and happy workers. 👍

Lovely service, great prices. Purchased a few watches that were an absolute bargain! Lovely to walk around.
