Although being a beautifully organised store, the staff were not very welcoming. When I was checking out a multitude of clothing items I presented the staff members at the counter a ring and keychain that were left untagged. She made an assumption about my young appearance and had a very unpleasant demeanour about her. When I purchased the items she did not offer me a bag for my pile of items and didn’t help fold the items like many other Salvo’s usually help with. As someone that has volunteered before I recognised that the customer service was not on par with the stores values and usual staff.
It seems they have cleaned up their act since all these bad reviews! Store is still nice and clean and easily accessible, and the racks were not stuffed and easy to look through unlike other op shops I’ve been to! Not too many items over $10 I found a pair of Levi’s that looked barely worn for $15! Glad they are listening to feedback!
Dishonest staff! Something strange is going on at this Salvos. I have shopped at other Salvos for a long time and love going on a Monday morning to enjoy the weeks specials that have just started that day. Went to Viginia store first, sale was ALL red tickets reduced to $2 and all green tickets half price (includes all high priced items too with new colour tickets each week, all Salvos run the same specials). Got some great stuff and there were heaps of red & green items throughout the store. Decided to drive to this Salvos in Carseldine, boy was I disappointed! A few racks out front with really average red & green ticket items, not much selection, no higher price items at all. I went inside and there were no red & green ticket items anywhere!! How can this be? The sale had only started an hour before. Where were all the items? This seemed really odd as I know other Salvos have heaps. Then I spotted a high priced dress on a mannequin with a red ticket for $30, I said I wanted it (had they forgotten about that one?) When the man serving me rang it up he announced that it had an original price tag saying it was $130 and asked if I saw that, I said no I saw the red ticket only and I asked him where all the other red and green ticket items were, he just looked at me and said he didn't know. I would have spent over $100 that day if the items expected were there. I have my suspicions about what is happening with the red & green ticket items, something dodgy is going on at this store and Salvos bosses need to look into it. OMG! I have just read another review where a lady saw them changing the colour tags on the items that should have been in the special! Disgusting behavior! If I could give no stars I would!
Clean, spacious and well set out but many items far pricier than other similar local stores. No real sense of welcome from staff. Very few quality clothing brands. Books are reasonably priced but very few and poorly displayed at rear of store. A few collectables but other bric a brac I found was rarely of interest, though clean and clearly displayed.
Was so excited to finally have a thrift store in this area as there is really only Footprints here, and they are small. But, like the others have said, prices are expensive for a thrift store. Let’s hope the Lifeline going in next door to them is better.
