Used to be my favourite op shop but recently they’ve had a major fall from grace. I found multiple items with the original prices from before being donated and the salvos prices was listed for up to 3x the price. They also have multiple anko items listened for more then the new price for items you can still buy brand new today in better conditions along the racks being littered with over prices shein clothes.
found stussy, tommy hilfiger, balenciaga, guess, kookai, supre, cotton on, glassons. their playlist was really good and the employees were kind.
I would like to preface this with the fact that I have used op shops since I was an infant, so have an idea of what a "charity" shop should be and respect, and communication. I have spent hundreds, and so has my sister at this specific store. Keryn should be sacked. Katrina, your up next. It is clear from reviews and my experience, the store encourages their confrontational and utterly rude behaviour. It is abhorrent. There were two exact bowls in a set, placed inside each other: I was happy to pay, and was spending hundreds again, but I just simply said to the worker Katrina "The smaller one is $3 and the large one is $5. Do you know why they were priced like that?" The young lady, SMIRKED and said "Uh, cause we can." I said "Oh I guess it's cause they have to pay people now." Mind you, the employee continued to smirk, stopped putting through items and raised her voice, she started talking about donations and high prices helping others. I said "I know that, but pensioners and single parents shop here" She continued to raise her voice and escalate the situation for all to enjoy. She said "What does it matter! If they were sold as a set they would still be the same price." I said to her "I just asked a question, so let's just leave it hey, since it is an issue" She wouldn't put my things through, because she had stopped mid way to argue, she still looked at me smirking waiting (hoping?) for the disagreement to continue. The professionalism is zero, coming for a mother who asked a question. I did not raise my voice once or argue with her. We had another incident there, where a sign said "ALL kids clothes $2" a size 4 boys pants did not have a tag. I got told they were $9 "vintage" pants by Keryn. When I said politely that the sign should change: again, one of the unhinged workers Keryn started an argument, raising her voice aggressively, regarding prices. She snatched my sisters sheet from her, bought from Vinnies, and refused to return it stating we stole it and to go and find the receipt. I was not happy, I asked to see the manager and Keryn followed me very closely and aggressively shouting things and would not let me talk calmly to anyone, she yelled over myself and my sister who had children with us. This is not the first time Keryn had done this, it is evident. Manager said she is a "great person." You can not ask questions to this set of staff without a full on argument playing out or a rude response. Even been told by a seperate staff member there $25 for sandles is fine because they are good quality, no bartering, I purchased them, two weeks later they broke due to the poor quality.
Loads to see with this store Felt like a department store Yellow ticket items $2 💛 2racks Red tag items 50% .. trouble was hard to identify a red tag item so gave up.. Customer service was reliable and easy. Overall well presented
Very disappointing experience. I went to replace a faulty item and was met with hostility from a staff member named Keryn. She repeatedly raised her voice, pointed her finger at me, and even decided at one stage that I would not receive an exchange. The whole situation played out in front of other customers, making it extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional. My husband spoke up reactively because he didn’t like how I was being treated and was aware of previous bad experiences with Keryn. YET instead of de-escalating, KERYN became more confrontational and aggressive. The manager was next to her this whole time. I apologised after Keryn left for the tension HER STAFF created I was told she would “speak to her,” but no apology was offered or acknowledgement for the way I had been treated or spoken to. The cherry on top was when the manager said I shouldn’t speak to staff like that so in other terms I shouldn’t defend myself and let Keryn do whatever she pleases with me. I have spent hundreds supporting this shop, I will never spend a dime there. I’ve consistently experienced poor service from Keryn. Regardless of whether a role is paid or voluntary, customers should be treated with respect. Sadly, this shop has failed to do that, and I will no longer be supporting it. Good job Keryn another customer you have chased away👏
