We visited the store on a Friday a few months ago and wanted to check whether an item would fit in our car before buying it. A lovely male staff member kindly allowed us to try, but the female duty manager insisted on saying no. We even offered to pay first and asked whether we could get a refund if it didn’t fit, but she still refused. Other op shops like St John have always allowed this. Very disappointed with this manager’s customer service, and sadly we won’t be returning.

Lovely shop with nice items but very disappointed to realise once I got home that I’ve been overcharged by $15. I can try to reconcile that this is towards an important cause but would prefer to donate by choice than sneaky tactics.

My visit to the Hospice Shop in Albany left me with mixed feelings. On the one hand, the shop itself is quite attractively presented, almost feeling like a commercial boutique rather than a typical charity shop, and finding a park was easy. The staff seemed pleasant enough during my time there. However, the main drawback was the pricing. I found the items to be ridiculously overpriced for a second-hand charity store. Honestly, it felt like I could find similar items brand new for less elsewhere. I did notice some people making purchases, and I couldn't help but wonder if they weren't concerned about the cost because it's for charity, or perhaps they weren't aware of typical retail prices. For shoppers genuinely looking for bargains or needing to stick to a tight budget, I would unfortunately advise steering clear of this particular shop. While it looks nice and supports a good cause, the prices don't align with the usual expectations for a charity shop bargain hunt.
