Thrifting is my Zen and Vinnies in Freo didn’t disappoint. The store is nicely laid out with well maintained items and good quality clothing. You can tell that the staff take pride in the store’s presentation. You definitely need to pop in and spend some time here if you’re in town. 😊
I’ve always loved this Opshop. The staff are kind and I believe are doing their best. Although I think anti-racism/decolonisation training/introspection would be good. I paid for a couples clothes and they were instructed to “pay it forward”, however this is what I was doing as an unwanted guest on this stolen land getting everything for free without permission for 200 years. We have truly been the worst possible uninvited guests and the least we can do is not be white saviours but try to reduce the inflicted shame on First Nations people(the custodians for 60,000years).
Pricey op shop overtly marketing to designer shoppers. There's a retro section and a European fashion section. Even the small furniture selection is only vintage. If you want to buy basic clothes, Target is one street away.
