Salvos Daylesford offers huge variety in an appealing setting. Set across a double shop front there's loads of books and bric a brac. Found many useful objects that other stores would chuck in lieu of selling more clothes. Great service.
Nice shop but the Salvos are a bit fancy now. Expensive. I suspect (I've no actual idea) that they pay shop designers to lay out the stores now. They're all uniformly, professionally set now. I walked in for my annual pair of jeans and 20 women looked at me. I was guided to a tiny Male section. I left. So many shops are just not male friendly. I really felt out of place. I feel out of place in Kmart to so it's mostly me but a Salvo store is like a Candle and Dress shop now. Not much for men.
A trip through Victoria on the way back to Sydney and stumbled across this absolute gem. We're partial to an op shop (no car parts, but they're still good for a nose through the books) & it was brilliant. Neat, well arranged, kind lady at the counter. Bought a few items (again, no car parts) & would recommend this Salvos (and Daylesford itself) 100%. Excellent.
Real score is 4.5stars (they lost half a point by insinuating that we need ‘permission’ from our ‘husbands’ to shop!) A beautifully clean, well organised and welcoming store! Lovely staff and a great choice of clothes and bric a brac. I also really love that the book section is miles from the Childrens items, so that it’s possible to peruse the books without tolerating the whining of todays unbearable whining kids!
