Thanks, Lifeline, for providing a way to destash my Mum-in-Law's treasures via donations as she prepares for her next move. She is happy knowing that her precious pieces are going to be loved by others. It was also very easy to drop things off Cardiff Lifeline as you can park in a proper car park behind the store - not on the street.

Can't even fathom how broad the range of great quality stuff is in this store! And great prices too. From clothes, to furniture, books and toys, they have it all! I bought a whole shopping bag full of baby clothes for under 20 bucks! The volunteers there are extremely friendly and were smitten over my baby 😅

We have been op-shoppers all our lives - so we can very very easily spot an op-shop with outrageously unfair pricing. And this unfortunately is one. The pricing is a joke - just plain greedy! It’s a shame as they are in the middle of an op-shop precinct with 3 other shops - all of which have reasonable op-shop pricing. But Lifeline stand out like a sore thumb as being the only one in this precinct with ridiculous pricing. More than the items would cost online, and often more than they’d even cost in collectors shops! Sometimes even more than they’d cost new!!! Books that should be $10 selling for $60! Monopoly that should be $10 at most a selling for $30. They’ve forgotten the op-shop pricing ethos, or perhaps they’re oblivious, but it just comes across as greedy and unrealistic. Such a shame. (Edit based on their response) Totally understand it’s an excellent cause - as is every other op-shop, all of which do wonderful things in the community. But alas this doesn’t justify price gauging. And I would argue that if the prices were more reasonable you would turn over far more stock - thereby raising far more funds for Lifeline. We left empty handed yesterday, instead of dropping a good $50 on the items we would have bought had they been reasonably priced.
