Im a regular patient at this hospital for my chronic pain and every admission I have nothing negative to say ,the nurses are just wonderful, my Dr is a miracle, the ladies that clean my room are amazing , the people that do the food service absolutely incredible helped me when I had a panic attack. This place has saved my life that and the pain management plan im on. I have zero complaints just brilliant work from all of them thankyou all SO much for keeping me safe . Untill next time , Coco

I recently underwent knee replacement surgery at St John of God Berwick and had a fantastic experience. I stayed for three nights and felt incredibly well-supported throughout my recovery. A huge thank you to my surgeon, Mr. de Villiers, for his expertise. The entire nursing team was wonderful, but I want to give a special mention to Prassanna, whose care, support and professionalism really stood out and made my stay much easier. Highly recommend this hospital for anyone heading into surgery.

We had an absolutely amazing experience at St John of God Hospital during our second pregnancy. From start to finish, the care and support we received were exceptional. Every single staff member nurses, midwives, and support staff were incredibly kind, professional, and genuinely caring. The theatre team during the C-section were outstanding and made the entire experience calm, reassuring, fun and seamless. A very special mention to the nurses and midwives, who truly went above and beyond. Their compassion, patience, and genuine care were outstanding. No question was ever too small, and they were always available to help, reassure, and guide us day or night. Their support, encouragement, and practical advice made us feel confident, calm, and well cared for during such a special and emotional time. We will always be grateful for the incredible work they do. Our stay in the room was extremely comfortable, the room service menu and food were excellent, and the overall facilities were top-notch. Throughout our stay, the team provided so much hands-on support, guidance, and advice, which made a huge difference during those early days. Parking was easy, visitors were always treated with respect, and everything ran smoothly from admission to discharge. We felt truly looked after every step of the way. We are incredibly grateful to the entire team and would highly recommend St John of God Hospital to anyone considering it for maternity care. An outstanding experience all round.

I’d wish to provide feedback of the midwifery team when I was a patient on December 2022. It took me 3 years to write this review due to my postpartum trauma. There was a wonderful midwife named Andrea I think who I still thank her to this day. The delivery and birthing suite was also something I cannot complain and the midwife who delivered my baby was such a sweet heart hence the 2 stars. However, one particular midwife who I cannot remember her name unfortunately was my main midwife who I saw everyday was rude, grumpy and cold. She was one of the eldest looking midwife with a foreign European last name I think. I still have chills thinking about my postpartum care at the hospital and remembering her makes me sad and angry. There were many times I felt she was condescending, rude and not at all caring and I felt like an outsider even though I’m the private patient paying for this service. I felt I may have done something to make her feel off but in fact after regaining my consciousness after my care, I know it was her who was the problem and that she was racist. I really do not want any other new mums to have her around hence this feedback. Moreover, many other midwives were also rude and neglectful on my many requests - such as when I repeatedly called out that I am unwell with a fever and the midwifery team kept suggesting it's "normal" to have shivers from breastfeeding, when clearly it's not if you have a fever! When they finally found out I had a fever - they gave me some oral antibiotics and discharged me as it's my "final" 5th day in care. The next few days my poor body had to go through several more episodes of fever at home and had to admit myself at the Casey Emergency hospital as the antibiotics didn't work. I was later explained at Casey Emergency that I had sepsis and had I left it longer, it wouldn't be good news. SJOG should take responsibility of my postnatal care but they don't take in patients after discharge and very conveniently discharged me the day they discovered my infection issue. They follow rules by the book and don't listen to patients. Unfortunately due to this traumatic experience, I will never be a future patient at SJOG Berwick.
