The Shop of Opportunity

Known locally as Shopportunity, this volunteer-led Barcaldine op shop directs its proceeds to local community groups and services, including aged care. It was created as a practical response to gaps in rural support: as well as selling donated goods, the shop has helped provide clothing and household items to people in need. It is as much a community connection point for volunteers as a place to find second-hand goods.
