Hayley and John were awesome to deal with - amazing range of quality mid-century pieces and extremely helpful and courteous. Thanks so much for helping us pack our beautiful furniture into the truck !
I recently purchased a rosewood and leather chair from John at The Vintage Shop and was so impressed with his service I was compelled to write a review (which isn't something I often do).. From our initial communications right through to helping me load the chair into my car several weeks later, John was a true pleasure to deal with. He gave me great advice on how to care for the chair, and even after I had committed to buying it as it was, John took it upon himself to send the chair to his restorer to get the rosewood arms and legs touched up. Above and beyond, and the definition of excellent, professional service. I was very tempted by so many of the other furniture pieces in the warehouse, and highly recommend visiting to take a look if you like mid-century furniture. 10/10, 5 Stars, 100% great company (and owner!). Thank you John!!
It takes a lot for me to write a review, and I could not say enough about The Vintage Shop. We bought a vintage sofa from them, absolutely THE most push-out-the boat buy, for us, so, we were anxious. Looked great in photos, but, then, many things do. Called John to get a better idea, but, still, a long-distance purchase. The sofa arrived in half the time promised, wrapped unbelievably well, and it was ***EXACTLY*** as in the photos, with added details as John described it that do not show up well in photos. Shipping? From Auckland to Dunners - we were sure that would be a deal-killer, but, the price they obtained was amazing, and from an extremely reputable household removals firm. Haley took care of all the admin details for us, smooth as. While the price tag of the sofa was an awful lot for us, we have been looking for a very long time, and so we have an idea of what comes available. There are a lot of destroyed/abused items up for offer every day. Many high quality curated items at twice the price at Mr B***********or other/similar. Despite that it was a big ticket item for us, it is amazing that The Vintage Shop can find items in such great condition and offer them at the price we paid. Our new/old/vintage sofa is a very nice thing indeed. Many thanks for everything you do Vintage Shop.
I finally made it in to check out the store in person. What an amazing collection of teak vintage furniture and chairs. Lots of high quality pieces in amazing condition. If you need some vintage teak (or inspiration) then this is your place!
John and the team at The Vintage Shop provided great service. Very happy with the Peter Hvidt table and Hans Wegner chairs. Thanks!
