Great selection of goods and it is an absolute breeze to shop through. For the tiered pricing of clothing there is something for everyone. Lots of bric a brac, categorised nicely by colour, heaps of books. However parts of this is set up as an antique emporium and the prices at times reflect second hand dealer set ups. When there are 8+ racks of a "Something Special" range anything half decent will be priced to the nines. Basic footy polos are $15 and modern hoodies at $20 which is overpriced. There was a Nintendo Wii consolei for $150 as well. This BSL "op shop" is the perfect example of the recent transformation of their second hand stores, who are aligned with their online Hunter Gatherer online store. Certain "premium" goods are sent to certain stores whilst having ex-second hand dealers and boomers running their retail operations - overpricing old furniture and glassware that sit and never sell. The best of a bad bunch of op shops here, but that isn't much of a glowing endorsement.

Not much of value on offer. A pair of Nike shoes was $80, and air purifier was $150. Not sure what happened to op shops being affordable to low income people

Brotherhood of St. Laurence Op Shop is a really solid op shop in a busy part of Moonee Ponds and definitely worth stopping into if you enjoy thrifting. Clothing prices are all a set price except for the vintage items. The location is convenient along the main shopping strip, and there are a few parking spots available on site which makes browsing a lot easier compared to trying to find street parking nearby. The store itself is quite large with heaps to look through. There’s a good mix of clothing, shoes, homewares, kitchen items, bags, décor pieces, and plenty of books. The book section especially stood out because there was such a large range compared to a lot of other op shops. It has that classic treasure hunt feeling where you can spend ages browsing shelves and finding random interesting things. Stock seemed to rotate well too, so it feels like somewhere worth revisiting regularly. The only downside is that some items did feel a bit overpriced for secondhand goods, which seems to be happening more often in op shops lately. Still, there are definitely bargains mixed throughout the store if you take your time looking properly.

The store itself and items available could be 5 star worthy considering its range, but the awful attitude of the staff could see plenty of improvement. I understand that they’re all volunteers, but there should be better training in customer service manners, or perhaps not bother at all if they’re going to represent this store with such attitude.

BOSL Moonee Ponds offers an amazing op shopping experience for lovers of old things who are willing to support charity by purchasing. Entry via the rear via the record clad roof leads to a huge warehouse brimming with daily essentials and treasures galore. There's a corner dedicated to antique furniture and a massive range of shoes at a humbling price point of $8. The clothes range is well organised and offers better value than any Kmart fast fashion. The book selection is easily the best in Moonee Ponds as are their charcterful home wares. I had nothing but amazing service here and was moved to observe the dignity with how the manager Donna supported a worker with special needs 👏 . This place keeps it real by doing good works with money spent there. Opposite Moonee Ponds station, or park at the rear.
