Went today with rubbish to dump, staff were friendly and helpful. It was a very pleasant experience due to this. I had assistance offered at the dump pit by a young man Phoenix Gray (that pleasant and helpful, I requested his name) a great representative for the Company. The Site is clean and seems run efficiently. The price was very fair. It was a better experience than I had at another site in Hamilton by far. Recommend using this station

The pricing system has moved away from fair, weight-based charging. Everything is still weighed, but smaller loads are now charged in broad brackets instead of by actual weight. For example, there’s a big jump once you go over 100kg — even if you’re only slightly over. That means a small difference in weight can lead to a much higher charge, which doesn’t reflect what you’re actually dumping. Someone bringing in 120kg can end up paying the same as someone dumping 900kg. It just doesn’t feel like fair pricing anymore. There’s no clear reason for this. The weighbridge already measures exact weight, so this isn’t about saving time or making things easier — it’s just a pricing change. As the local transfer station, this is effectively a natural monopoly — there aren’t any practical alternatives. That makes changes like this feel unfair. Service itself is fine, but the pricing model isn’t. When customers are paying significantly more for small increases in weight, it’s hard to see this as anything other than a change that increases profit without improving the service.

Really great experience at the garbage center. The staff were very friendly and provided clear guidance on where to go and what to do. They made the whole process quick and easy, which I really appreciated. It’s not often you expect such good service at a place like this, but they were genuinely helpful and welcoming. Highly recommend!
