Loved this shop. Beautifully presented and very friendly coastal vibe when we walked in. Items immaculately presented which shows the hard work and dedication by all who work/volunteer there. We don’t live locally but make a point of calling in when we are in the area.

Shop nicely set up. Prices are too high. Pricing on the high side unfortunately, like the other 2 chain opp shops. Friendly staff, just too expensive for us.

The Smiths Family Store at Bargara Salvation Army offers a range of second-hand items, but many of the prices seem to exceed expectations, often higher than what you would find online or at other second-hand stores. For example, a pair of runners was priced at $50, even though they are available for $45 online. Similarly, a set of three Italian-made pots was listed at $250, which seems quite steep for second-hand goods, despite their quality and origin. This pricing raises concerns about how well it aligns with the Salvation Army's mission to help the needy. The Salvation Army is known for supporting vulnerable communities by providing affordable goods and services, yet these inflated prices may prevent those in need from accessing basic necessities. By charging prices above the market rate, the store appears to prioritize profit over its charitable mission of providing affordable resources for those less fortunate. While the store's profits do contribute to the Salvation Army's broader mission, it’s important for the pricing to reflect the organization’s commitment to helping those who are struggling. Higher-than-expected prices could undermine the store’s role in offering affordable options to the very community it aims to support. It’s worth considering if the pricing strategy truly aligns with the values of charity and accessibility.

A great spot to find bargains that change weekly for good stock rotation. Everything is categorised well with a good mixture of items for everyone.
