Check out West Auckland Resource Centre in New Lynn
About this shop
West Auckland Resource Centre is best approached as a creative reuse shed rather than a conventional op shop. Its shelves and bins hold rescued fabric, haberdashery, card, paper, packaging, foam, leather, wood offcuts and other materials useful for classrooms, crafts and community projects. Visitors make a modest access donation instead of paying item by item. The volunteer-run charity keeps valuable resources out of landfill and makes them affordable for schools, groups and home makers.

Supposedly for schools, still. A great selection of items for ones hobbies
The kids had science projects . This lil place had an array of things to help. Staff directed me and they were so kind.
Resource centre for everyone to go to. Like many of these places you need to pop in regularly. If you have surplus resources that teachers, craft centre's, daycare, resthomes could use please think to donate these by checking with them first. Staff friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking.
Limited opening hours, but a great place to find materials for craft projects. Helpful staff. Recycled goods.
For all teachers that are passionate about play or maker-space enthusiasts, this will be an extremely useful resource to stock up on loose parts.
