Visited Kingaroy Family Store today and was hugely impressed with the lady that runs the place. On the surface, it's just another op shop, much like the others in the area. What had an impact on me, however, was her genuine commitment to helping the less fortunate. This includes free food and drinks to local people in need, supporting the homeless and making substantial donations to various causes. Her candid sentiment that enough income to keep the rent paid was mission accomplished, struck a chord with me. This really embraces and celebrates what charity should be. It's about community, not profit. I wish her, and the store, all the best for the future. May she continue to help the less fortunate, and may years of happiness and peace be her reward.
