Wow, what a great record shop/cafe. My wife and I had such a nice time here. We met one of the owners, Steve, who is an absolute gem. Lovely guy and a proper music lover. Took the time to help us select some vinyl and talk to us about the history of the area and the South Island sound, as well as playing some really cool music for us. If you’re a vinyl collector, music lover or just looking for a cool spot for a coffee this a must visit stop in Geraldine. All the best, keep up the great work!
Best coffee stop experience we ever made - Very welcoming, authentic and warm atmosphere. Coffee and cinnamon roll was a 10/10, but owners Steve and Katrina really make your stop worthwhile. They shared interesting stories about the history and development of music in New Zealand. Even if you are not that much into records and music, we recommend you to pay a visit just for the atmosphere as this it‘s a huge differentiation factor compared to regular / trendy cafes in NZ. Do yourself a favor and add it on your itinerary, you won’t be disappointed.
A cup of coffee while listening to Elfie. It's a fun addition to a quiet weekend. The space is too pretty to pass up, so we spend a few minutes there for a coffee. If you find this place on your travels, make sure to take a break and go, it will double your pleasure.
What a fabulous place! A recent addition to Geraldines cafe scene but with one fantastic difference - vinyl! You can play it and buy it while sipping on a very well made coffee and wee slice. Nicely renovated and a cracker of a sunny spot. Wonderful service, can't wait to go back.
Vinyl record store + Cafe is a tried and true concept and good to see something like this pop up in Geraldine. It's still got that new room smell (they've done a great job restoring the building) and I LOVE that the owners have made it 100% solar powered! There is vinyl for sale, a turn table playing tunes (cool idea, but needs to be constantly attended to change LPs over) and there are some awesome and quite rare album/gig posters on the walls. I look forward to coming back here once they're up to speed, because they had only been open a few days when we visited, and while vinyl is the passion, there is a lot of work to be done on the hospitality side of things. Coffee was good though! And the cakes/slice delicious. A cool new addition to Gerraz.
