This Salvos in Torquay is quite a big store, between two streets. We visit Salvos and other Op Shops a lot, for interesting items and purchases. This one we purchased two pairs of in-line skates for the grandsons! The people there were really active in running the shop - nice to see. Yes, recommended. Thank you.

Salvos Torquay: Great Mission, But Are Prices Getting Too High? Salvos Torquay has built a strong reputation for doing good—recycling donated goods, reducing waste, and funding vital community programs. It’s a great example of a circular economy in action. However, within the last 2-3 months, I (and others) have noticed prices creeping up (I would guess on average +20%), with some second-hand items costing as much as brand-new ones. This trend is surprising, especially for a store whose inventory is donated and is meant to help people save money while supporting a good cause. While it is Salvos right to increase prices as the owner, they risk losing the trust of everyday shoppers who rely on affordability and/or, shop at Salvos to support the organisations’ mission. I am sure the Torquay customer base would appreciate a realignment to the Salvos roots—serving those in need while still doing great work for the environment.
