Good charity. I drop off my gifts here instead of at the kmart wishing tree in the square as it’s always a terrible mess there, and when i told the kmart kid he didn’t care. But what beautiful people in the head office. Easy to find. Sometimes closed right when u need to be there so that’s frustrating but otherwise easy to find, lovely receptionist.
Called asking of they offered any support over Christmas for families experiencing hardship. Was told they don't offer that service anymore.. called these guys in a moment of desperation as I'd worked with them for many years alongside my grandmother. Felt less horrible asking for help from an organization I'd put time ans effort into helping. Find some help through vinnies instead and while lining up to speak to their amazing volunteers another lady mentioned how she'd just come from salvos... they had an excess of stuff there to help over christmas and asked of I'd spoken to them!
The Salvation army supplied me food when I couldn't afford or had financial difficulties. I also do wood work for 2 hours every Thursday at the men's shed. Which is an outlet for me.
