Our field note and nearly a hundred Google reviews rarely disagree: brilliantly laid out, sharp menu-posted prices, staff people write in to praise. A proper day-out destination — and it's open Sundays.

Probably the largest op shop in Auckland — the Henderson tip shop, with a dedicated zone for everything: records by the tub, a wall of tools, electricals, CDs, clothes, art, a whole kids' section, musical instruments, and the retro comfy furniture you can't really find anywhere else. A separate shed handles building materials and bigger goods, and there's a café on site.
Prices are clearly stated on a posted menu, so you know what you're walking into. Heaps of parking, just off the motorway, open Sundays. It stands alone — no other op shops nearby, and it doesn't need them. Every visit turns up something good.

My 5-year-old daughter recently visited Tipping Point with her school as part of their recycling kaupapa. She came home absolutely beaming, saying that the “High Viz man” was their best mate and showed her and her mates how everything worked... and "all the cool stuff your mum and dad could buy"! She’s now sorting all our recycling at home, and ive had a request to visit (and likely purchase a heap of stuff!!). So, a huge shout out to Trevor (aka "High Viz Man") for truly embodying the Tipping Point kaupapa and inspiring a whole generation of future planet protectors. Thanks, Trev, for making our kids experience amazing! (p.s. the pic below is now proudly up on the classroom wall!!)

Best Reuse store I’ve been to in Auckland and I do this as a hobby. Well laid out, split into everyday items and then outdoor and building materials. Heaps of parking and room to bring a truck or trailer. The layout of the shop is so inviting the team should be proud. The sections were so well laid out I was thinking the whole place was a display and not for sale. And the best part is the things there are genuinely affordable. The sticker system and all the pricing on the walls throughout. This place will be in my rotation constantly. Theres coffee and sweet treats too so don’t skip on those.

This place is FANTASTICALLY AWESOME. From the friendly, helpful staff to the decor repurposed from 'another man's trash'. Right from the moment you drive in the gates, you can see a lot of thought has gone into the layout of the Tipping Point, and whoever has had a hand in it should be highly commended. It should be put up for some awards. It truly is a beautiful space. Not to mention bargains galore. There is something here for everyone. The inclusion of a cafe is a win-win for everyone. My friend and I went from one end to the next twice with a break for coffee and to gather ourselves and show each other our 'treasures'. Ka mau te wehi.
