Normally I do not single people out but @Venus in the sky and @Leanne and @Agenda5 I really hope you are able to re evaluate your review on here as I don’t think you are reviewing the correct place????. This Salvation Army (opposite the basin primary school) is a 100% community based op shop (not “the salvos franchise”)???? I have been shopping here for years! Never ever in my life have I paid more than $5.00 for a children’s toy. My 3 children, myself and most of my family are clothed because of this place selling quality items ranging from 20CENTS to $5.00! When the clothes are $5.00 they are normally high end brands you could only find in boutique shops on bridge road and chapel street!! The “salvos stores” these days are absolutely overpriced as they have targets to meet but this community Salvation Army corps is ran by volunteers and gives back to the community. The friendly volunteers ALWAYS greet you with a smile, they’ll even make you a cup of tea whilst you navigate all the bargains. If you are having a bad day they genuinely care and want to help. If you’ve ran out of food in the pantry and need help these are the people to talk to, at the very least they are able to provide advice and contacts. The reviews are displaced regarding this place, I plead with anyone who’s able to write a review after physically going here to do so. I also challenge someone to take a photo of a $20.00 toy or anything that’s $20.00 at this place! I am happy to be contacted in regards to this review and to be proved wrong as this was disappointing to read. This place is not a “salvos store” it is THE SALVATION ARMY CORPS. Please support this place where ever you can, I know I do and will continue to do so for as long as I can.
