The ladies at The Formal Project are truly incredible! From the moment we arrived, they made my daughter feel so special and cared for. They went above and beyond to ensure she had the most amazing experience, showing such kindness, patience, and genuine care. My daughter walked away feeling confident, beautiful, and so happy and as a mum, that means the world to me. We are so incredibly grateful for everything you do to make every child feel seen, valued, and celebrated. Thank you for creating such a positive and memorable experience!
I was genuinely surprised to see so many positive reviews, as our experience was quite different. From the moment we arrived, we felt judged rather than welcomed. The staff, unfortunately, didn’t come across as particularly warm or accommodating, and our appointment felt rushed—as if we were being squeezed in between others. The clothing provided for my younger brother was very disappointing. The pieces didn’t coordinate well and seemed put together with little thought. What was more concerning was how the staff addressed my brother’s body type—they referred to him as "skinny" in a way that lacked sensitivity and professionalism. Overall, we left feeling dismissed and unheard. There didn’t seem to be much care put into his appearance, and in the end, he didn’t even wear the outfit to his graduation. I had to purchase a suit myself elsewhere. Sadly, the experience felt like a waste of time and didn’t meet the standards we were hoping for.
Love this place ! Such affordable items! I love the work these ladies are doing, and I love that you can see what you are supporting, with the formal wear being at the back of the op-shop. I wish all the best for the owner, the volunteers, and the students that are being supported!
AMAZING PLACE Honestly, what a brilliant place, I dare to say, one of the handful op shops in Sydney with real thrift prices. Clothing ranged between $2 and $5!! And I mean, brand new Sheike dresses for only $5!!! They cater for all sizing. However, they had amazing pieces for size 6 and 8. They also had a section of funky earrings for only $3 each pair. Go and support this charity. They do also accept donations and have a list on site and on their FB page of what you can take. I think what they do is amazing
