UPDATE Following this review, Tatty’s founder contacted me directly and refunded the full expired balance of NZ$256.96. I appreciate that the financial aspect of the matter has now been resolved and that Tatty’s has advised that its payment procedures have been changed. However, I still never received a satisfactory explanation regarding the signature on a March 2023 drop-off form that was later used as evidence that I had accepted Tatty’s policies. The signature on that form was clearly different from my genuine signature, and despite raising this issue and providing supporting documents, it was never directly addressed. For transparency, I am leaving my original review below and updating it to reflect the outcome. —————————— I finally found time to write this review, because what happened to me is worth a public warning. 1. Silent balance grab In March–April 2025 Tattys wiped twelve “expiring-balance” deductions (about $257) from my account. No email, no text, no phone call — just some tiny fine-print on their website that staff never mention. 2. Two cases of forged signatures * 2020 – Someone at Tattys forged my name on a withdrawal slip; only after I complained did they refund the money. * March 2025 – Tattys emailed me a new drop-off form and the signature on that form was again clearly not mine. 3. Zero follow-up from management I emailed detailed evidence and asked for an explanation. After one “We’re looking into it” reply on 2 May 2025, management went completely silent — no investigation results, no apology. I’m shocked that forgery and unannounced balance sweeps can happen twice at the same store. Front-of-house staff are pleasant, but the back-office controls are, frankly, chaotic. If you decide to consign here: * Photograph every form you sign. * Screenshot your balance after every sale. * Set your own calendar reminders, because Tattys won’t remind you when your money is about to “expire.” Hope this saves someone else the hassle I’ve been through.

We stopped in Tatty's while window shopping on Ponsonby and I ended up getting a whole new outfit to wear out to dinner! The selection and quality of their pieces is amazing - including shoes, bags, and accessories - and the person at the register was so kind and lovely to chat to! I didn't catch their name, but they were an absolute delight - if they remember joking with Americans about cell tower trees, that was us!
