Salvos Benalla is huge. Loads of simple clothing- nothing special. Kids books are pricey...up to $4 for a paperback picture book (including Aldi books that sold for 99c new!) . The store smelt of cigarette smoke. Unsure why. Service less than helpful....more interested in continuing conversation than serving. There are better op shops in town that welcome your business!

More of a reflection on those behind the counter than the actual store, although it is on the pricier side. Dear John, it isn't a crime to not have my Salvos card on me personally. I'd come from Tasmania and were told it didn't work on the mainland so I were not to know, and actually mentioned this in search for some confirmation. Not to be reprimanded. "There is no excuse for not having your card" isn't a kind way to talk to your loyal customers. I'm on a carer's pension and am so grateful for what the Salvation Army does for me - I'm also a volunteer albeit with Lifeline and we would never speak to our customers like that. Sadly there were people queued behind me that got to witness and hear him.

Quite a large store with plenty of things, particularly if you want some gardening or yard work clothes. There's a large book section down the back with a little couch thing, which is nice for visiting.
