Dog friendly, amazing hospital store manager, great stock and fair prices - I will be back next week xxxxx
Loved this op shop and the flat rates on items. But today I was being accused of theft because of an empty rack was left there when I walked in. The staff immediately stopped me and asked if I had put something in my bag. It was very confrontational and felt like she'd already thought I'd stolen something. I offered to show her my bag, but she said “no” and walked away. I understand that small businesses need to be cautious, but as someone who struggles with social anxiety, that interaction was nothing but terrifying. Apparently this is not the first time it has happened and I think the staff need to pay more attention on removing empty racks in change rooms if they have to accuse customers like that. I don’t think I'm comfortable going back 💔
I like the idea of this place, but service wise it needs some help. About a year ago my partner and I went in. We were trying on a lot of stuff, and brought maybe 15 items. The rack had an empty coat hanger on it (it was a weekend so not only customers), and so the server essentially accused me of theft, looked into the cubicles, went through the clothes I was holding. Even though they were on the other side of the store looked in our belongings, then when nothing was found glared at us while searching the camera footage as she was certain i was a theif. She gave us a discount after she realised it wasn't us, but the extremes to get to that was really shocking and degrading. I love op shopping, I sew, and I have been back but always careful to make sure this doesn't happen again. I popped in today as they opened as we are moving away from the area. Then, after running some errands, I grabbed some beers for while packing and walked back to my car... past Prise. The same server comes out, looks at my purchase, glares at me. Even though I'm not in their store or entering. She was pretty disgusted. I don't feel like I fit the stereotypes, but holy moly she thinks i do. I'm even a regular in the area and we have spent hundreds there. Suggestions: 1. You do not know people so stop assuming awful things 2. Your products are donated, so you don't need to act like this. 3. If you are judgemental, West End is probably not the best place for you.
One of the best op shops in west end! Loved the flat rates for items - I got some incredible dungarees and jeans for like $12-13 each which was such a steal. Beautiful pieces so definitely worth swinging by on a thrifting adventure!
This op shop work on a set-price model by clothing type, which means you could find some great deals! Sign said all proceeds were going towards refugee aid in Palestine. Small selection though, and the staff member was a bit unapproachable and opened a closed curtain of a dressing room (luckily just after it had been closed) to check the number of items another shopper had, which was a bit questionable.
