Penguin Community Op Shop is locally run and closely tied to The Rookery, turning a Main Street browse into a broader community hub. Alongside affordable donated goods, the organisation hosts activities such as board games and craft, with scheduled food, social-worker and digital support. Local volunteers created the independent shop after the town's former Vinnies closed, and surplus funds return to people and organisations around Penguin. The Rookery also provides free food for people doing it tough.
