Helping Hands Mission Op Shop on Oakover Road in Preston is a fantastic op shop and one that's definitely worth a visit if you enjoy hunting for bargains. One of the first things I noticed was how convenient it is to get to, with parking available right outside the store. That makes it easy to pop in for a quick browse or spend some time looking through everything without worrying about where to leave the car. The store has a great range of stock, including clothing, shoes, books, homewares, kitchenware, records, hats, glass, eggs, tupperware, décor, and all sorts of second-hand treasures. There always seems to be plenty to look through, and the shelves are regularly refreshed with new donations. What really stood out to me were the discounts and specials. Most clothing priced at $2, Jackets and Dresses at $4, and vintage variously marked, It's the kind of place where you can walk away with a handful of useful finds without spending much at all. The store is well organised, easy to browse, and has a friendly atmosphere that makes treasure hunting enjoyable.
Wow what a transformation. It's been a while since I've been and the shop is looking great. It's clean and organised. The new manager is very friendly and helpfull. I found some fantastic bargains. Will be back again.
Very helpful staff and really nice layout. That’s a huge shop and there’s so much stuff here that’s pretty well organised. I don’t know why people would give an op shop one star that just seems kind of mean anyway here’s a five star.
The prices here are getting diabolical. The furniture prices are comparable/worse than antique stores. And they get this stuff for free no? Sure it’s a charity but charity also means making these things accessible to low income people/families, really makes me sad. Because it eventually becomes cheaper and easier to get fast furniture from Kmart and ikea. So much waste, the direction op shops are going is just depressing
I saw some other reviews for bad staff but everytime I’ve been they’ve been lovely. The prices are great - shirts for $2, op shop prices are getting out of hand at other places. I found a cashmere jumper for $10. Kids clothes are $1 as well, happy with everything we picked up.
