Good collection of non-rubbish vinyl and CDs...BUT, prices are WAY over priced for a charity shop. Like, half the price would be too much on many items. Weird. Better to get stock moving and fund Habitat.
Over priced and some junk. Trust me I'm old school and was raised going through the organic rubbish on the curb from people's houses in Auckland as a kid and that was like Christmas. Must say, the shop was packed with customers and there was a lot of stuff. But my eyes nearly popped out when I saw a radio maybe from the 90s going for $400 bucks. Staff are friendly and kind.
8 years ago I gave them a 5 star rating. Today I have to change it to a 2 star. The prices in this store have skyrocketed making it unaffordable for lower income people to even purchase things. The parking is now managed by an offside parking scam ive had 3 tickets of $80 for being a couple mins over the parking time, even with proof I was shopping there ive been charged. Store acts more like an antiques boutique these days rather than an op shop. Its a shame because it was once my favourite op shop in Hastings. Example pic of a $20 used pillowcase.
Had an awesome experience there today. Have only been once or twice before. Great prices! Eg all adult clothing $4 unless marked otherwise! So good. Thanks guys for being an affordable op shop! I reckon it would be cool if you made a dedicated vintage section.
This little op shop has had a bit of an overhaul lately and I think it’s looking really good! The store always smells nice, they’ve started changing displays to be a bit more interesting. I particularly like how they are displaying the good records up on the wall where you can see them. There are two staff members in particular who are always very friendly and have great banter. The new manager is lovely also. Prices on clothing, music, books, tchotchkes and electronics are very reasonable. Prices on toys are some media are quite high. Sometimes the store closes before their stated closing hours which can be a bit of a bummer. The biggest benefit of this op shop is that they prevent electronics from becoming landfill! Most local op shops chop the cords of electronics and bin them as they don’t have a system for electronics testing. Keep it up habitat team :)
