The few times I've been in the store, I've been shocked at the high inflated prices for donated goods. I've often walked out with nothing. I refuse to pay higher than clothes in Big W or Kmart, especially 2nd hand. I was looking for some jeans for my son and couldn't find anything under $30 in his size. I saw prices on clothes items, $30 - $100, who comes up with these prices. Sick and tired of being ripped off with inflated prices, just because we live in the country. Although, on this occasion I did find some womens Nike sneakers, in good condition for $13, that's cheap, retail $120. Seems a lucky find on the day. Rather go to the other Op shop in Clare for a bargain.
Well set out but some items are just too dear. I got a new jacket retail for cheaper than the jackets were in Lifeline. I understand it is for charity, but from a sustainability viewpoint the prices do need to encourage people to shop second hand.
