Great store for alternative fashion. They carry a mix of local independent brands and 2nd hand designer pieces including shoes, jewelry and cool art prints. Queer-friendly. Staff is very lovely too.
Most beautifully curated vintage collection with pieces from New Zealand fashion designers to classics like Vivienne Westwood, HeavyMetal etc! Everyone at this store is absolutely fabulous, wearing insanely creative outfits with such sweet personalities, comfortable to cater to whatever needs you have - like mine! I went in to get a ball dress last year, left with the most spectacular black beaded dress of my life!!
Such a uniquely curated fashion extravaganza!! Every time I've come in I've felt so welcomed, and love being able to support and get to know all the designers hosted there! Bizarre Bazaar very quickly became more than just a shop but a community full of wonderful people and great fashion taste
Bizarre Bazaar is a MUST VISIT if you're someone who loves fashion visiting or living in Wellington. The vintage selection is crazy huge and across a range of prices so if you're looking to drop $50 on something for a night out or $500 on a one of a kind designer piece you'll find it there. I constantly keep an eye on the instagram because they're regularly getting in pieces that you would see nowhere else in NZ!!!!!! The staff are super friendly and will give you great styling tips if you're nervous about trying a more avant-garde piece. Despite the sexy cool party-girl vibes in the shop, I've bought tonnes of stuff from BB that I regularly wear at my 9-5 in an office. Because the shop has both vintage and independant designers, it's a great way to find pieces that noone else has and to support emerging NZ designers that you never would've otherwise heard about. Wellington wouldn't be Wellington without places like Bizarre Bazaar!
Absolutely love this store! Wellington used to have amazing alternative shops, but most of them are gone now so I was so happy to find this gem! I often get nervous clothes shopping, but the owner is sooo amazing and genuinely kind. We chatted for a while and I was made to feel at ease. I ended up buying a beautiful ring (with a Valentine’s Day voucher from my partner) and I absolutely love that it’s one of a kind and so pretty. I highly recommend this place and supporting small business! I will be back 🖤
