This is one of the best thrift store I’ve been to in Australia. They got beautiful preloved collection of stuff & I went crazy for. The store associates were very kind and helpful.
I went here for the first time just before closing. I was disappointed to learn that customers are charged a surcharge when using their card. I find this outrageous for a not-for-profit op shop!! I never get charged a surcharge at Vonnies/Salvos or BSL - so why here? This is not cool and Management need to cease this practice.
Good mix of stock, extreme price range from true op shop bargains to outragest priced just like Salvos. Manager (i assumed) openly ranting to another volunteer (also assumed to be) about someone else pricing and item that was 'genuine' and should have been $40 not $10 as marked. Same question I pose to Salvos. What is your purpose? You get your stock absolutely free therefore 100% margin. You can move your stock on like an op shop, or play expert in flipping and maximise profit. In which case, i hope you pay your volunteer full retail wages, with benefits.
Went here the other day, had a lovely experience. I never even knew this cute little shop was here. The prices are fantastic and the staff were so lovely. I will definitely be adding this to my regular op shop list! Couldn’t recommend enough 🩷
I love to support animal (particularly dog!) charities, so we often pop into this op shop and spend $$ when we are lunching in the area.I would estimate that between the 5 of us, in the last 3 years we have happily spent over $1000. Today, however-( between us we bought 8 items totalling $123)I saw an overpriced item that my sick dog desperately needed and when I approached to ask about the price, I was asked to first read this sign at front desk ....It seems very passive aggressive , and whilest I am sure that volunteers don't want to deal with it, a better option would be to say , "I'm just a volunteer, You'll have to speak to the manager!" Whilest I was standing there, I did hear another staff member offer a discount to a client. So that was confusing!; Also, if I were being negative- there are a lot of slip/ trip hazards and sloping floors in this store, and the aged volunteers- whilest cute saying hello as you enter, are terribly inefficient...there is almost always a long wait to pay for goods.
